The field of design is based on line. Line is the most fundamental element in this field, which helps in passing the aspired information. The manipulations of a line help a designer to develop or formulate an illustration that is of considerable admiration. Understanding the effects of lines in a design plays a vital role in marketing of design products. Lines are employed in communicating both visual and emotional aspect of a design. Designer can use different types of designs, based on the direction of the line. The direction of the line that impress most in it usage, is the curved type. Curved lines communicate the movement of the captured character in the design (Philips, G. July 19, 2010).

The reasons, why curved lines are preferred, include the fact that they are organic, rhythmic and sumptuous. The organic attribute of these lines gives an image a sense of life. This makes most of the designs utilizing these types of lines natural. Therefore, the design appears real, attractive and appealing to the eyes of the customers. Rhythmic aspect creates a sense of musical and a continuous pattern in the design. This enhances the interest of suspension, while looking or feeling it. This aspect contributes significantly in the marketing as well as breaking the monotony of up and down structure. Moreover, curved lines give a piece of work the attributes of boldness and sensuous. For example, the meandering Hearts Charm Bracelet by Lydia Muell employs this character of sensuous exceptionally well. These are some of the   reasons that make me prefer using the curved lines (McDermott, C. 2007).

Another reason, why I prefer curved line is that they enable the artist to develop the direction of slope in drawing and photographs. Most of the designers associate curved lines with softness. Finally, curved lines help in creating an influence in the elucidation of the design. This is because; contribute to both imaginably and mind capturing the image of the piece of artistic design. The most crucial aspect of design that needs curved lines application include: creating outline, showing contours, geometric impressions and displaying contrast in an image.

Decretive art also is one of my favorite

Decretive arts are form of arts used to deliver a decree concerning something. They are mostly related to the will of God that what God wants to concern the conduct of the human being. Religious readers and religious groups use decretive design to show the will of God and even to deliver His message unto the people. A good example of the decretive arts is Islamic art.  These arts enable us and lead us to see how these people embrace their culture and their art of worship. They show us how they are able to honor their creator, and give us a sense of rituals and religious practices that they embrace in regards to God’s decree (Philips, G. July 19, 2010).

In the art nouveau, we have an example of a decretive art by the name Tiffany Education. This art is a declaration of four individuals, whereby two individuals are depicted as angels. They are seen to provide protection to one individual, who is a human being seated on his feet. Hence this picture is used to show the descriptive will of God as the protector of a human being with assistance of other beings, which are greater than Him that is the angels. The decretive arts usually contain a divine message in them associated with the will of God Himself (McDermott, C. 2007).

I like designs that are colorful.

Color plays a vital role in the design. The impression that is derived by different colors creates a different meaning about a design. Colorful designs score higher than non-colorful. The field of designing employs color to refer to aspects, such as hue, contrast, brightness and saturation. In the passage of messages intended in a design, designers must identify the colors that correspond to that information. A colorful design communicates a happy mood of the work, as opposed to black and white design. In most cases, non-colorful design is associated with ancient work, crude or message of doom. These are some of the reasons that most people choose the colorful design over mono-colored design.

In the marketing of designs, many people will go for colorful designs that are attractive, appealing to the eye and beautiful. Moreover, colorful designs create a feeling of life, hope and jovial mood. The psychological implications of colors have been determined to influence the marketing of the designs. For instance, the red color is associated with the feelings which are energetic, passionate and erotic. Red designs may also be used to communicated, hostility, fury, or feeling of ferociousness. The use of yellow color communicates sunshine, modern, and upbeat. The psychological impression is interpreted as optimistic. On the other hand, using green in the design passes a message of nature, life, stability or toxicity. The use of blue color implies coolness, distance, wholly. The negative messages passed by this color include unhappiness and submissiveness. This shows why colorful designs are preferred over the non-colorful. Colors give the emotional attachment to the viewer and how they interpret the message passed by the design and not just the structural effects. For example, in the Pop art movement “Wall Calendar by Andy Warhol” shows an illustration of a colorful design (Philips, G. July 19, 2010).

Cartoon and unrealistic drawing are easier to design than other designs. This is because the drawing of these images follows no rule. The designed depicted in the image will be interpreted by the intended group like an art of creativity. In cartoon drawing, the design can be manipulated as the drawing goes on depending with the impression of the designer. This is different from those designs that have been prescribed or have an outline to be followed. Once the outline is disobeyed, the design loses its meaning to something else. Moreover, cartoon drawing is more of fun than an obligation (Philips, G. July 19, 2010).

The artist's world is limitless.

The ideas, which provoke the design developed, are not limited to a location. To be an artist is one of the most precious things that a person has. My inspiration for this comes from a quote by Paul Strand that says that, “The artist world is limitless.” Indeed the artist world is limitless since one can move from any part of the globe to any person and still find his artist work valuable to them. This is one of my motivating factors that keep empowering me. I can be able to employ my artist skills regardless of the place or the environment, for instance, in my home or at my work place or even in another place.

Artistic profession is not the same as other professions, which are, only limited to a given environment, for instance Law. The law of a given country will differ with that of another country. Moreover, the law will also differ from one organization to another, but the artistic skills will always be the same. They are not limited to a given body of knowledge, but only depend on a person’s own skills and what another person wants to be provided. Therefore, this offers the artistic work to be free from any limit that might appear to be set by the external environment (Cole, D.2007).

The artist works, for instance, like cartoons does not have any guideline for its production, but only depends on the creativity of the artist. This gives an ample space for the artist to create his creation without any form of limitation. Developing the artist`s work without any form of limitation makes the work universally acceptable and hence marketable in any corner of the world. People will not only consider the creativity involved, but also the place, where the artist works or the artist has originated. Therefore, this supports the sayings that indeed the artistic work is limitless (Bowles, M. & Isaac, C. 2009).

All art requires courage.

Art requires that an artist comes up with a design and develop the best way to structure and portly the design in a way that other people will like them. The work of an artist is more or less creation. In the designing of something that is not to be tested fast, it takes courage. It takes courage to establish something new that is supposed to be evaluated by other people. The artistic world is full of competition from all over the world. To come up with something new in the market requires the zeal of the highest order. Courage in creativity is different from that of the fighters or victors in a field of competition. This is the courage of initiating a new image and pursuing it to maturation.

In the business market, art requires creativity and courage to study the trend of the market-society. This will help the designer to forecast the situation of the market, hence develop designs that will capture the interest of the customers. For instance, they have to decide what can be designed in connection to events, such as world cup competitions, athletic competitions, music award, and cerebrations, such as Christmas. Different people have different tastes and preferences of the product and designs (Cole, D.2007). Therefore, it takes courage for those designers, whose products are poorly opted in the market, yet they pursue their goal of developing other artistic designs.

To my opinion, the artist`s mood plays an excellent part in his design

In reality, mood is the central core of everything that we create. Edvard Munache expresses that there are two different set of mood: short-term and long-term. Several factors influence mood in nature. These factors depend with the environment and circumstances that are surrounding an artist. Some of the factors include relationship state, financial status, sleep and rest, satisfaction and disease. The short-term mood effects can be expressed in the work of Edvard Munchs, when he came up with the scream. The impression that is displayed in the design is highly liked to the mood the artist was in, while developing the design. In the music industry, most of the songs carry the mood of the artist, while he was composing the song. The color and the shape of the artistic design depend with the different impression of the artist. Different artist will structure a similar theme in diverse aspect depending with their mood (Cole, D.2007).

The influence of an individual’s mood to the product of their ideas can be express in the existence of designs showing or depicting different moods. The color using is the proper aspect to describe the mood of the design. Artists construct their own ideas and then manifest them into different designs. The situation, which provoked the design chosen by the artist, is benched on personal attributes and environment (Lidwell, W., Holden, K. & Butler, J. 2003). A good example of how the mood affects the artistic work can be derived from work of Vincent Van Gogh. Vincent had a mental problem that was varying in severity from time to time. His drawing could depict the times of severity since the coloring in his designs became intensified with the increase in level of confusion.
