The online student registration system refers to a web based threshold developed in ASP. The online registration system allows online submission of the student application. It also performs computer based test and student registration. The system stores test results and modifies student profile. Currently students submit hardcopies of filled application forms to the university and the staff write all this in the manual register and enter it into excel files. The staff issues an admit card or hall ticket to student and carry out test for students. Students come to the college and give tests for the particular date. The office staff checks all the papers, calculate results, and print the details. The printouts are displayed in the university premises. The college informs students to check the result on the notice board, and they come to college to view their results.
The proposed online student registration system will get rid of all the manual interventions. It will intensify the speed of the whole process. The system will allow students to fill the registration form online. It has inbuilt confirmation system to authenticate the entered data. This will not only make the work easy, but also the registration process effective and efficient. After a successful submission, the system will give distinctive registration number for every student. Students can login into system using the registration number and take the online test. The system will present the results after completion and store them for further use.
Presently, the internet has become a reality. The usage of the Internet has become much popular, and there is incredible increase of Internet in all over the universe for education purposes. The online student registration system is simple to use, flexible and full-featured student registration, assessment and testing web portal. The project report illustrates the software nonfunctional and functional requirements for release of the online student registration system. The document is proposed to be used by members of the project team who will verify and implement the correct implementation of the system. The requirements specified in this project report are of high precedence and committed for release.

Interface
This section will contain forms through which the user will interact with the system. The design will have to be user friendly in order to achieve the target of the student registration system.
Main Form
This section will contain the link to the system modules such as registration, edition and deletion. This form will be divided into five menus: file, edit, view, administration and help.
File
The file menu will have the basic registration choice of the students, i.e., student registration, course registration and fee registration.
Edit
This will have the editing and updating option of the student. This will allow the student to edit or delete incorrect entries such as user name or password.
View
This is concerned with viewing the data and outputs in different prospective. In this menu, the student can view registration data, mark sheet, overall report etc. the reports here can be printed at will.
Administration
This menu will only be accessed by the administration of the institution for security purposes. The menu contains critical information such as changing user password, creating or deleting accounts of a user.
Help
This menu provides assistance to any user who will be stuck in completing the online registration.
Accessing the Main Form
Sign In
Accessing the main registration form requires the user to enter the correct password and user name. The students are expected to give confidential passwords and user names, which cannot be guessed easily. This ensures that high security is maintained. The system will detect a wrong user name or password and will not allow the user to continue after three consecutive errors unless the administration intervenes.
Student Registration
It is important and compulsory for every student to register in this module to get a go ahead to the other modules. The module has the following steps.
Important student data
The student is required to give the basic information such as names, date of birth, class, year of enrollment and education background. The data provided will be used in all modules to verify the class and courses the student is taking in that particular semester.
Interface

You can use our chat service now for more immediate answers. Contact us anytime to discuss the details of the order
The interface has to be friendly and easy to use. This includes control for specific data entry such as a textbox for names and a calendar for the date of birth.
Validations
It will ensure that the user enters correct data in every entity. This will be controlled by advance controls for both control level and form level.

The system will accept a completed form to be submitted and will close automatically. The closure means that the information is already accepted in the system.
Fee Registration System
Fee management module will store student records in such a way that it will be easy to carry out joints, cohesions and abstraction. The module will have the following steps:
Checking student registration
The system will only allow those students who have completed the registration step to continue with this step.
Calculations
The system will make correct calculations and keep records of all fees paid.
Interface
An interface will be easy to use and understand. It will control date and time of fees payment automatically.
Validation
The user will not be in a position to alter fees information. Validation will be ensured using advance checks.
Submit to Database
The student will submit data using the registration numbers as the primary key. This will make it easy to store and extract information.
Course Registration
This module caters for courses and units taken in each calls. The courses are mostly the same in each year, but there are possibilities of changing. Therefore, this module gives a chance for adjusting the courses appropriately when need arises. Course registration has the following steps.
Checking Student Registration
This module checks whether the student is available in the school register. A student is only allowed to continue if he has registered in the registration section.
Likelihood of Course Registration
A student is only allowed to access the course pertained to his class. This ensures that students do not alter other calluses courses.
Submit to Data Base
The primary key for entering data here will be the class. The data entered will be used to enter the results after the exams.
Marks Entry
This module manages the marks entered and ensures that they are available when required. The following steps will be followed.
Check Course Registration
The application will only allow those students who have registered in the registration module to have their marks entered.
Extracting Course from the Course Registration Module
The system will automatically extract courses from the course registration module and provide it for marks entry.
Enter Marks
Every course will have a textbox where the marks will be entered.
Validation
The application will only allow valid data to be entered.
Interface
The user will be expected to enter students’ registration number, and the application will extract the course details and the total marks entered.
Submitting to Database
Data will be stored in database and, exception will be handled appropriately.
Reporting
This is the way of showing output of a specific search. Crystal reporting will be done as follows:
Reporting for Every Module
Every module will have two classes of report:
- Report of a student
- Report of all students
Overall Report of the Student Data
This module will have the overall data concerning a student. This starts from the name, fees, class, marks and position.
Exam Report
This will show the exam results and position as it is in the report exam form.
Updating and Editing
This module will allow the user to correct mistakes occurring from human error. The application will be flexible and allow editing and updating of the following student data:
· Fee Registration Data
· Course Registration
· Marks
Access and Administrative Options
The administrator has the right to reset user password, create new account and add new users to the system. Administrative tasks are the following:
- Deleting account
- Creating New Users
- Resetting Passwords
Scope
The application will smooth the progress of the school in all spheres of influence. It can be run over a stand-alone private computer or be shared on LAN.
Performance
The system will work effectively and efficiently using the specified software and hardware.
Hardware
The application is standard. It is harmonious to as low as hardware requirements. We target to run this stem at Pentium 2 with 128MB RAM and 600MHz processor.
Platform
The application will run more than Windows 2000/NT/vista.
Deliverable Form
The executable application of the form will be delivered and the source code be provided to the school for authenticity purposes.
