In his economic thinking; first, Nixon believed that Goods are ‘Material’ while Prices are ‘Mental’. Second, he also argued that there is good and evil that determines human behaviour. His third dualism concept was gain and loss that had effect on trade.

THE APPEAL OF NIXON IN THE ELECTION OF 1972

Nixon appealed for political conservatism other than liberalism, a situation that led to the fall of open-minded ideals of governance. This change of political force in the country was facilitated by his advocacy for a detente foreign policy towards China and Soviet Union. He also appealed for an economic policy that would lead to price controls and employees’ wages.    

AMERICA IN THE 1970

In 1970  American thought  the country was in a state of decline because there was rampant unemployment and a rise in inflation. In addition, the domestic policies, which the country practiced, could not assure the citizens of sustainable living conditions. 

THE PROBLEMS FACING CARTER ADMINISTRATION

The problems that faced Carter’s administration in the United States included economic downturn that affected trade. The other problem was about setting precedent that could outline the legal framework to reform the countries’ governance.

TALK ABOUT REAGAN FOREIGN POLICY

Reagan’s foreign policy was concentrated on  dealing with other countries such as China, Europe and Soviet Union in a cordial manner. In addition, the foreign policy targeted areas such as economic development, trade and military between the USA and other countries. The foreign policy was also to enhance international relations and promote peaceful coexistence.

THE PROBLEMS FACING REAGAN ADMINISTRATION

Primarily, Reagan administration faced the problem of ending the prolonged cold war between the United States and the Soviet Union. Since Reagan supported those who were anti-communists, he faced a lot of resistance from other countries which were practicing communism, for instance, Soviet Union and transacted business with the US,. Moreover, his administration faced a problem when the Iran-Contra was revealed, a situation that called for the US government to deny or accept the country’s involvement in the affair.
