The paper aims at comparing the anatomy of the human and Chimpanzee species. In order to bring out the differences between the human and chimpanzee species, this paper would bring forward the differences that these two species have by considering their anatomy. The anatomies to be considered include the skull, the different limbs structure of human and chimpanzee species, the hips, the shape of the spine, the size and the shape of the toe and how human and chimpanzee species anatomy are adapted in order to make the movement from one place to the other possible.
Considering differences the chimpanzee and the human have, the chimpanzee species have a large skull that has a high forehead that balances on upper part of S-shaped-spine. The large skull and high forehead makes the Chimpanzee species to be taller than the human species. The curved skull is a kind of adaptation to the chimpanzee species since they are engaged in the activities that risk make them risk their skull being broken. The activities include jumping from trees to trees, and fighting with other animals as an adaptation mechanism for protecting their young ones.
Another major difference between the chimpanzee and the human is their adaptations that help in their locomotion or movement from place to place. The ribcage is funnel shaped that help the chimpanzee in locomotion. The ribcage that is funnel shaped to provide the support needed on the lower side of the body so that the chimpanzee can make movements.

Another major difference between chimpanzee species and human species is the differences on the structure of their lower limbs. The chimpanzee’s upper limbs are adapted in such a way that they are very large. The large limbs help the chimpanzee in walking and also swinging from one tree to the other in order to get their food and run away from the danger that may be facing the chimpanzee species in their environment. The limbs are not only very large but also they are long and strong. The long limbs ensure that the chimpanzee species can grasp the trees while they are swinging and at the same time help to facilitate locomotion of the species from place to the other.
Another difference that exists in the anatomy between the chimpanzee and human species is the leg support. The human beings have strong leg supports that help them to walk. The strong leg support helps to ensure that the body weight is well supported. The angled part of the leg helps to form a powerful bridge where the body weight can be supported.
Another difference that exists in the anatomy between the human and chimpanzee species is the evidence of strong knee that explains the ability of the human to walk in two. When the human species walk in two they put stress on the leg bones. The large area that is covered with the bones below the knee is to absorb the pressure exerted by the upper part of the body. The bones that are found right below the knee in human species is strong to absorb the pressure exerted by upper parts of the body hence accounts to the fact that the human walk in two in contrast to the chimpanzee species that walk in four.
The human species have curved spines that account for their locomotive adaptation. The curved spines help to absorb pressures exerted by the body as the human tries to walk into two. On the other hand the chimpanzee species have an upright spine since they walk in four; their body weight is equally distributed both at the lower side and at the upper side of their bodies (Adds, Larkcom, Miller, 2007).
