Import and Export

I consider the balance of import and export to be the perfect ratio for each country. The USA current situation of import greatly exceeding export is not the most favourable for the state. On the one hand, it gives customers low apparel prices. On the other hand, country loses its’ working places for textile and apparel specialists.

Importing is much better for the country, if regarded from environmental point of view. It means no hazardous waste products and environment pollution. From social point of view import equals to low product price, export – to better quality control and easier access to ready product. As for the state economy, exporting goods brings economy big revenues and total control of manufacturing process, while import leads to lower cost, but faces a protectionism policy barrier.

To my mind, at the time we graduate fashion industry situation will have only slight changes. Probably, the import rates will become even higher, that may cause the emergence of new trade connections. For product developers that will mean opportunities to cooperate with new manufacturers from various countries and use this experience for further development of fashion industry.
