This paper will take into consideration the revolution that recently took place in Tunisia and Egypt both of which are Arab countries. It will take into consideration the similarities of the two revolutions in terms of the reasons behind the revolution, organization of the revolution and finally the initiators of the revolution. The reason behind taking the two states is that they provide a clear picture which one can use to compare political organization of different states or regions.

The similarities that can be noted in the two revolutions are as follows; the two countries experiences dramatic increase in costs of basic commodities in the recent years. In addition the ruling class in the two nations was accused of corruption especially those people who was within the ruling parties. Another important similarity to note is that in both countries the ruling leaders had stayed in power for more than twenty years. This is noted where the Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak had ruled the country ever since 1981. On the other had the Tunisian leader Ben Ali come into power in 1987. The revolution shows that in both countries people were not satisfied with their leaders who had ruled them for many years and this leaders denied the to exercise their democratic right of electing the leader that they wanted. The two countries were also characterized by police brutality before the revolution and during the entire revolution period. It also vital to note that youths were the major initiators of the revolution in the two countries, through the use of social network such as face book, twitter among others. The youth carried effortless campaign through this important media calling people to conduct mass action and riots across the two countries asking for resignation of their president. The revolutions were also characterized by restriction over the use of social media with an aim of containing the revolution by the ruling classes.
