The article is an analysis of the social structure of the youth in the society. It tries to enquire the relationship that exists in the social structure of youths in relation to the family. The article is an engagement of the sociology of the youth to the wider sociology, with reflection to the challenges that the future faces, and the relationship between the youth and their policy. It explores the dynamics of the youth challenges between the sociology field, and the development of psychology which drives the influence between them, which leads to the policy assumptions of the youth and their power hierarchy that flows within their sociology. The research question of the study was, if the relationship that exists in the power of youth influences the relevant sociology of youth policy (Wyn, 2011). This helped in the analysis on the concept of the youth assumption to their lives in the domain of policy which reinforces their status quo.

It helped in engagement of the youth policy to the emergence of the understanding of their hierarchy and the relation of power to the study. The study was intended to enable the understanding of the youth sociology and its policy, as it seemed that less interest and attention was considered, which can be significant to the both fields in relating to the families and the youths’ relationships. The study enquired about the invisibility of families to the youth lives, which was a contributing factor to the hierarchy of the youth policy and the sociology fields. It helped in identification of the separation between the families and the effects of domination of youth policy, leading to the psychological ideas, development, and the normative assumptions of the family role in the lives of the youth (Wyn, 2011).

 The target of the research was the youth sociological study and the policy to which they were dominant in influencing the independence from their families. It targets the different age groups at the two periods of the 20th and 21st centuries, by which the youths considered themselves as being able to live independent lives without relying on their families. The article indicates that youths in the 20th century were starting their independent life when they attained the age of 18 years, and were actively involved in occupation which enhanced their independence from the family. This was due to the educational background, as it was not a compulsory thing, and thus it was possible for them to start their independence. The increase in the compulsory needs of education in the 21st century has seen the transformation in the tread, as the youths find it difficult to pursue their education, while being independent, and thus, there is need for the reliance on the family support (Wyn, 2011).

The article has brought forth the concept of socialization and the social interaction. It has shown that the way people are is not heredity, but a concept of how the nature and nurturing affect the way of actions. Youths who did not have social interaction with their family members found themselves  establishing their independent lives, while still young in accordance with their policy of youth. Those youth who did not have family interaction, had to find it difficult in their life, as it is not possible for them to make rightful decisions concerning their life, and they would sometimes lack the sense of the purpose (Wyn, 2011).

Socialization has been depicted as a factor that helps most of the youth in the contemporary times, as the youths have realized the needs of the family support through interactions. Socialization, as deduced from the article, has enabled the youth to make decisions which are able to manage their lives effectively. The concept of socialization has also enhanced the youths to nurture their abilities in decisions, as they are able to navigate their lives through education and later in work.

The structure of the family has been depicted as the contributing factor to the policy of the youth. The sociology of the youth and their policy of being independent can be significantly influenced by the family. The pillar of nurturing an individual coupled with nature to a relative person is capable of making decisions on their life, and the maintenance of purpose sense is dependent on the family structure. This is where the concept of interaction and the family members is borne, which enhances the future lives of individuals (Wyn, 2011).

The contemporary youth policy is dependent on the family, as it helps the youth in pursuing their life objectives successfully. Those family structures that are economically poor have been depicted to have the young ones unable to pursue the tertiary education, and are the most vulnerable people working fulltime, unlike those from the wealthier class who are able to work part-time, while they pursue their education. The family support is the factor that contributes to the completion of the tertiary education.
