Conservation and Preservation

Introduction

Environmental preservation refers to all attempts made intentionally to have ecosystem natural, and not subject to devastating disturbance from humanity. On the other hand, conservation refers to keeping the environment in the same way as it was.

Discussion

For conservation, the environment is subject to some level of humankind adjustments. Both concepts are utilized in programs that involve management of natural resources. In real world, individuals may or may not choose to benefit from the resources in a way that is friendly and sustainable. Others may choose to leave it remain at its original state (Hay, 2002).

I do not have much confidence on people being able to harvest the forests in a friendly way. This is because even if they given permission governed by regulations concerning the way they should do it in a friendly way, majority of them will still go against the objective.

According to me, I would prefer the environment be kept in its natural state through preservation. This is because, if we decide to become biased on conservation, then it means that in the end we would not have any thing that is natural. However, as I argue from this perspective, I do not mean that people should not derive benefits from these resources. They can be allowed, to at times go and camp, and enjoy the beautiful world provided by the natural environment. In addition, by preserving the environment, the young and future generations will benefit from it.

Conclusion

Based on the video by Bridger Teton, the Americans are used to consumption of fuel in large scale. This thus means that as a result a lot of drilling will be done. This could go as far affecting the sites, which provide a home to wild animals. After some time, this will result to migration by these animals. This implies no tourist attraction, and to some extent, a dip in the country's economic status.
