European Invasion

There was enormous impact resulting from European invasion. It included an alteration of the movement of individuals across the landscape. Of course, in the pre-colonial lifestyle, which is recorded everywhere; the population was evenly distributed or at least had a heavy concentration away from the centers of power. In the postcolonial period, it changed. Quite a substantial portion, which would be the great majority of the people, went toward the newly developed centers of power. This occurred in most parts of the world and specifically the Southeastern countries such as India were not an exception.

The happenings were probably a reaction of the populace to the drive for success and the need to earn a living. Therefore, there was a need for wealth accumulation for the natives and the city centers were the only available sources in the growing system that dictated a change of wealth accumulation methodology. It seemed that the postcolonial period brought a lot of capitalism concept to most countries. Thus, some populations resorted to migrate to nearby areas such as countries in Africa that had newly become independent. Unlike the Africans and Europeans that lived in cities for all of their lives in some cases, Indians were a recent migration.

In these countries, Indians perceived opportunities as being profitable since they had a growing and lucrative economy. Therefore, they sought a chance to live close to the city centers just like the Europeans. In this case, they got to act as a superior race and shared a bit of rivalry, but mutual interest with the Europeans. Still, they could not be held at the same level as Africans. Overall, they adapted to the postcolonial situation in their own ways mostly by adopting capitalism in its entirety.
