How to Write a Book Like The Bible

Israel, a nation in the Middle East, was named after Jacob. Jacob was the son of Isaac who was the son of Abraham. The name Israel was given to Jacob by God (The Bible, the book of Genesis, chapter 35, verse 10). Jacob had twelve sons hence the twelve hence the twelve tribes of Israel. Israel is a nation, which was created by war. The Israelites initially had no land of their own, and they moved from one place to another. Its formation resulted from a series of events over time.

God had made a promise to Abraham that he would be given many descendants who would be uncountable (The Bible, the book of Genesis chapter 22 verse17). When the children of Jacob and his family wandered to Egypt because of starvation in their land, they multiplied there. The rulers of Egypt on seeing the rate in which the Israelites were multiplying perceived them as a threat to the indigenous inhabitants of Egypt. They resulted to enslaving them in an effort to control them.

Many years passed and the Israelites cried to God for help. God heard their prayers and called on Moses to liberate them from the Egyptians (The bible, the book of Exodus, chapter 3 verse 7- 10). God promised to give them a land which was everything they could dream of. The Promised Land was not their own to take, and they had to fight to possess it. During the exodus from Egypt, the Israelites encountered other people, and they had to fight most of the way to survive and to protect their own. The Promised Land was already occupied by other tribes and groups of people.

These people did not take well to being invaded by the Israelites. They had to take up arms in an effort to protect their land. On the other hand, the Israelites believed in God, and he had promised them that land (The Holy Bible, 1985). All they had to do was to worship him and obey his commandments. The inhabitants of the land did not believe in the sovereignty of God who no one could see. They believed in worshipping gods they could see and understand, and they could not let the Israelites take over their lands without a fight.

Whenever the children of Israel encountered the inhabitants of the said lands, they engaged them in battle and chased them away or killed them. Since God was with them, they won all the battles and claimed the vacated lands as theirs. In this way, the nation of Israel was born.

The present conflict in Israel and its neighbors can be attributed to two major factors. These are the hatred of resulting in differences of opinion in religious matters and the refusal of its enemies to recognize Israel as a sovereign state with lands and boundaries of its own. In recent times, war in the Middle East has led to Israel being invaded by extremist groups. The aim of these groups is to undermine Israel as a state. Israel, on the other hand, invades its neighbor's in an effort to protect its own and to reclaim lands she believes to be part of her. Peace in the Middle East is always elusive due to the aggressive nature of the parties involved. Israel being a Jewish nation surrounded by Islamic nations is often undermined due its religious inclinations (Lewis, 1998).

The Islamic extremists who believe that Islam is the only religion that should be followed looks down on Israelis religious beliefs, and hence factions are created due to negative doctrines against Israeli religious beliefs. This has led to religious wars being waged against Israel. The instigators of these wars believe their religion to be superior and therefore, a holy war or Jihad is necessary to obliterate the blemish in the region that is Israel (The bible, the book of Matthew, chapter 24, and verse 7 - 12). Given the history of the region the question a rises when will the conflict in the Middle East end? With one conflict ending, another begins. Israel, however, has taken measures to ensure that its people and religion are protected. These have been achieved by aligning itself with powerful nations, which are sympathetic to its position.

It is evident that hatred between Israel and her neighbor's will not end in the foreseeable future given their history. The land occupied by Israel is believed to belong to others who are not Jewish. The Israelis, on the other hand, will never accept any argument that might suggest they are not the rightful heirs to their land. Their ancestor Abraham was promised that land by God. God gave it to them, and therefore, it is their birthright. Although the liberation and independence of Israel occurred, her citizens always suffer when caught in the crossfire in any other part of the world (Price, 2003).

Although the conflict of the Middle East should remain there, it often extends and affects other regions of the world. Therefore to what extent do the conflict in Israel and her neighbor's affect the world? It should be noted that the origins of the major religions in the world originate from the Middle East. Christianity being one of the major religions in the world has its origin in Israel. Islam, on the other hand, is a religion, which is embraced by the nations in conflict with Israel. Therefore, it follows that conflict is a major tool for causing imbalance in the world economies today. A great part of the world is allied to Israel and its people, whereas the other part will be allied to its opposing nations (Lewis, 1998).

Peace in the region becomes necessary as it affects a great part of the world. Hatred has led to uncountable lives being lost. Poverty and suffering of the people involved. The hatred in Israel does not end there it extends to the whole world. This brings the question of when does hatred turn into war. In most observed cases people who hate one another need to resolve their differences. If a solution is not found then a more serious conflict arises. This results in loss of lives and destruction of property. In the current world, conflict has resulted into wars and genocides. Many people are murdered because of hatred, which in most cases has no basis to warrant death of the innocent.

Governments all over the world are affected by conflicts which have resulted from hatred among the leaders. This often has led to wars and unsustainable economic conditions. When is the right time to intervene to prevent hatred from resulting into wars? Often when the conflict has escalated and damage has been done, is when we see some form of intervention. People should not wait until a life has been lost to intervene, rather action should be taken when it is evident a conflict is impeding. Reasons for people to hate vary and cannot be attributed to one cause only. Nevertheless, for a religious individual, hate can be a factor of what ones faith is or is not. Each person should strive to better himself and to fight for justice and truth. It is not always an easy fight and is full of hardships, but one should not give up (The bible, the book of Matthew, chapter 5, verse 10 - 12).

Conclusion

Conflict is a daily aspect of life. It has many faces, and it should not be allowed to lead to loss of lives. Each day, people disagree on a variety of issues. Some people react have extreme reactions to conflicts others are quick to solve the issue. Depending on the individual's nature and the set of circumstance leading to the conflict, hatred can easily manifest to disastrous proportions. In the daily occurrences people deal with their issues in different ways. There are those who respect the law and follow the legal system and there are those who take matters into their own hands. These sets of people who take matters into their own hands do not accomplish much, but all they do is to aggravate the issue. It is therefore important to follow the right channels when faced with conflict. Diplomacy should be exercised at all times before any other form of action is taken. Often at times, this does not happen and matters do escalate to destructive conflicts and wars.
