Shooting an Elephant

Shooting an Elephant is a book written by George Orwell a renowned British author. The book is an exciting piece of literally work coined to address the issue of imperialism and gross lack of respect by some group of people in the society. The author in the book Shooting an Elephant employs the effect of symbolism as one of the main literary style to explain a point in the society (45). In this book express imperialism power which was being exercised by the colonial British government in Burma.

This paper examines the impact of imperialism and succinctly relates the topic of imperialism to the resent occurrence. The main purpose is the book is to unveil the nature of imperialism government on people and how oppressive human being can be to mankind. The topic of oppression is important because is open the eye of the society to shun away uncouth behavior such as oppression and imperial government which jeopardizes the democracy on people.

In normal life situation some supervisors experience lack of respect and denunciation from workers because of their positions in a company. Supervisors take actions to preserve the image of authority before subordinates and from being ridiculed by their workers, even if the supervisors object these types of actions.
